Online Training: What do guineas, fleas, and ticks have to do with web conference rooms?
When you live on a farm in Kansas sometimes your suroundings come through in the web conferencing recording. You will get the short story in this web conferencing recording.
I decided to save this web conference online training and load the whole file up to my server. Not that it's necessarly the best online training I've done, in fact when I re-listened to the recording I just about didn't post it.
There is time during this training that my guineas start making so much noise that I have to stop the training and close the window! If you don't mind hearing real world day to day things that happen on our farm in Kansas then this is a must listen to training.

8. 2007 Marketing Success Strategy After a few years, most businesses establish a set formula for determining their marketing budget, usually a fixed percentage of revenue. But when economic times get tough, it's time to make a few alterations. The mistake businesses make is to simply cut the marketing budget when they experience a downturn in revenue. Big no, no. In an effort to protect their bottom line, they are more likely to bottom out. Instead of cutting your marketing budget, try making a few refinements: 1. Concentrate on past and current customers. They are more likely to purchase from you, even during difficult economic times. Mail to them more often, call them more often and let them know about special promotions more often. 2. Instead of cutting your marketing budget, refine your marketing message. Customers will be thinking of how they can get more for less, so focus on the value rather than the low price. Here are some fresh marketing strategies to get your creative juices flowing.
Write a Personal Letter
Personal letters are very powerful. Get a big stack of mail from
the letter carrier and I'll bet you open the hand-addresses
letter from a friend first. We often talk about making web site
copy and newspaper ads carry the power of a letter. Why not
market your business by simply writing a personal letter?
Keep your letter to a single page.
Make paragraphs short. I like three line paragraphs, but five or
six lines per paragraph is also fine. Longer paragraphs make
your copy look dense and a long read to someone who is in a
hurry.
CAPITALS are good for a sales letter, but keep
them out of your personal letter.
Sign your letter in a different color ink than the color it is
printed in. Include a P.S. Sixty percent of readers read the
P.S. before they read the rest of the letter. Have the P.S.
restate your offer, your time limit, or urge the reader to call
or email you.
Hand address your envelope and use a regular first class stamp.
It makes little difference what your business name is once it becomes a well-known household word. But the long path to market share and familiarity can hinge on how well customers like your business' name.
Avoid names that are hard to say or hard to spell. Unless your prospects are especially good with language (all your customers are English teachers), a difficult name will be hard to remember. Hard-to-spell domain names lose a tremendous amount of traffic from the significant portion of people who have a hard time remembering what letter goesnext (my hand is raised!).
Unless you don't plan to be in business very long, don't go with a trendy name. The trend will die out and your name will sound like yesterday's news.
Try to choose a name that identifies who you are and your main benefit. Think about whether your name makes you sound big, fast, friendly, corporate, or trustworthy.
11. Living on Cloud 9 I have talked so much about how mindset plays an important role in the outcome of our businesses. This morning when I turned on my computer and had a message from Mike Darling about the new traffic portal called "Blog Father" and RSS feed that we can set up in 10 minutes or less I felt like I was on cloud 9! Wow what a boost to my mindset...
Anyone who doesn't jump on this marketing strategy and run with it IS CRAZY! I've been blogging for years.. acutally long before I even knew about Veretekk, but I've always found it a little difficult to teach... People seem to get caught up in all the logistics and don't pay attention to what is important.. and that is content. Team blogging seems to alieviate a little of that problem, but NOW what we have here (Blog Father Traffic Portal) wipes it away completly.
