Raid Caneo Nature is the longest adventure race to be held in France and starts in Paris on Monday. The race is the brainchild of Gerard Fusil, who is regarded as the father of adventure racing. Gerard Fusil was the founder of the Raid Gaulloise and Elf Authentique Adventure, both expedition type adventure races and also organisers the annual Reunion D' Aventure and Oman Adventure adventure race.

Teams competing in the Raid Caneo Nature adventure race will be gathering on the outskirts of Versailles this weekend, in order to carry out gear checks and receive a final briefing. Three non French teams, one each from Spain, UK and Belgium wiil be competing against the local teams which include Wisa Helly Hensan lead by Karine Baillet a distinguished French racer who has in the past won both the Reunion D Aventure and the Oman Adventure and is currently viaing for the lead in the adventure racing world cup.

The question is which where will her competition come from, perhaps from Helly Hansen UK whose team includes Ski Sharp who gave Karine a run for her money in the 1st Oman Adventure bike and run.

The race is for teams of 4 persons one of whom must be female, supported by a logistics team of one or two persons. All teams members need to have knowledge of sea Kayaking, canyoning, caving and orienteering and two bust be able ride and look after horses.

The race will start with a ride and run stage, with the riders being joined with two runners. The first stage can be quite crucial to the outcome, and can sometimes be a bit of lottery when animals are part of the equation. Minimum times have been set up in the ride and run legs, together with compulsory stops and inspection of horses.

All teams have been sent a route book and are at present mapping out the route to take them to Marseilles where the race is planned to end on 7th August. The Raid Caneo Nature has a number of stages with rest camps to allow teams to regroup, but on the stages teams will be racing non stop 24 hrs a day.

I read a report today that says the USA is fighting its way back from recession, it came from a travel magazine and  applauded two US airlines who have announced flight frequency reductions on routes , due to the increasing cost of fuel. Other airlines in Europe for example rather than bite the bullet, try to make reductions withour advertising the facts.

People who market home based businesses know that the summer months are usually lean times as people travel on holiday etc and enjoy the long summer days. this year may be extra difficult with the rising cost of living around the world, however when times are hard it time to start looking at new opportunities and review where you are going.

I am happy that my own business continues to provide a growing income, but success has not been achieved overnight, few home based businesses last more than a couple of years.

The crew of French Navy ship Var held a farewell party at the Pirates Bar, Kota Kinabalu Waterfront, yesterday after playing a friendly game of touch rugby on First Beach Tanjung Aru, organised by Nick Lawes of Pirates of Borneo. I was on a forum today where there was a discussion about what was the best auto responder and it seems that Aweber has strong support, however I have a different opinion.

The auto responders that I use are Getreply, which is provided free by one of my website host, very functional, form code provided to buid subscriber forms and good tools to manage both subscribers and emails. Veretekk includes very powerful autoresponders in its suite of marketing tools and is far and away the best on the market value for money. You can have unlimited auto responders. The only drawback is that it is difficult to edit the series of emails however there is an expected update due out this year which will rectify the matter. Today in a forum I found a post from someone who had gained a top position in Google by accident. he had unknowingly discovered the power of regionalisation, rather than pitting himself self against thousands of other attorneys he had focused on his local market.

He had kept the site simple, The title reflected the keyword phrase, which had good search engine results probability. The metatags description was written with good keyword content. The keyword phrase was also within the first three keywords of the metatag. The actual content on the website was very informative.

Regionalisation is a very powerful technique to target particular markets and if you were to do business in some other location such as Malaysia he could use a similar site, but replacing references to his regionalised keyword phrase.

I have used regionalisation myself and though some might say that duplication is bad, if you are offering similar services in different regions there is nothing wrong with using a similar promotion method, no need to reinvent the wheel, after all most affiliate sites are duplication, but with them you cannot usually correctly format the meta tags.

One has to remember that SEO is always work in progress you always have to provide fresh food for the spiders to retain your position.

Pirates of Borneo have taken over the the former Atlantis Restaurant at the Waterfront, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia !

Pirates of Borneo have spent the last month renovating and improving the former Atlantis Restaurant, which has now reopened as Atlantis Brasserie serving a selection of fish dishes in an intimate cocktail lounge/restaurant.

SEO for a Home based Business, there is a book published somewhere “ SEO: an hour a day,” I have not read it.. My advice on SEO is not to get bogged down in the detail and algorithms. I find the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) method works well for my home based business and takes about an hour a day.

I sit down and write about one of my keyword phrases or something that I have come across which is connected with my home based business. Once a draft is complete I revise it , perhaps adding a few keyword phrase to keep the spiders happy, they seem to like keywords right at start and in the last paragraph. This week I was reminded how important visualisation is to assist with achieving ones life goals and it takes me back to the time  I was a successful athlete.

You See Before each race, I would lie down, rest and prepare for the race by seeing myself in my mind competing a go through the tactics and see the results that would get me on the podium.

The same can be applied to business, you need to train your mind to success, not only seeing success in your mind but use pictures of goals you plan to reach, such as a new car, holiday, house, yacht etc. Place these somewhere where you will see them such as on the Fridge or on the inside of your front. It will also help to label these pictures with simple lable's such as "My House", do not use "my dream house" because you need to trick you mind into thinking its for real.

You see thought processes are very powerfull and if you think of something it will often come about, if you start thinking on the negative side like I can't make money, then you will not.

Another example when mountain biking, if you see a rock on the trail, and think you are going to hit it, you surely will. (its happened to me a few times)

I regard my self as a generally positive person but it is easy to drops ones guard. I have achieved a lot of what I wanted, having retired early, with a nice house etc able to wake up every morning and being able to to what ever I want. Its a great life, but now I want more.

I have set out on a mission to help people help themselves, but in doing so I have to go back to the roots of success and get back into the habit of setting new goals.

I have always loved the sea and sailing and considered at one time sailing around the world. Now I live in the tropics and a yacht might be nice, so I have set up a company to act a caretaker for yachts left in a local marina.

My vision now is tangable, because whist the owners are absent these yachts are mine and I go aboard and ensure they are kept in good working order treating them as my own.

The next task is to raise the funds to purchase one of my own and to help me I am using Al Turnquist's course Make Money Or Make excuses which forms part of the training for Jaguar Marketing.

Now books and tapes are not my cup of tea but if you want something to be more than a dream you need to take action.

I have done many things that people only dream about or couch potatoes watch on TV.

So my advice to you if you want to succeed on the Internet with any business, its time to start work and stop looking for a free lunch.
